Hello, I’m Rachel! I am a dietitian/nutrition coach and founder of Pro Lifestyle Nutrition. While I enjoy the sweetest of treats (born with a major sweet tooth!), I believe that it is important to find a balance between healthy eating and indulging so that health & weight goals can be reached/maintained without feeling deprived. I refer to this approach as “flexible eating”: – flexible so that favorite foods and eating in general can be enjoyed without guilt. That is a big part of my mission – to help people reach their goals while enjoying & appreciating food. I personally started really appreciating food when I learned the connection between how our eating & lifestyle habits strongly affect our health & well-being. I love being able to share my passion for how we can use food to heal, recover, nourish, energize, and FEEL GOOD from the inside out.
I believe (and can personally relate to the fact) that eating is much more then a physical act – it’s very psychological and we don’t always eat because we’re hungry. That’s just how the human brain is wired. Whether stressed at work, feeling sad, celebrating a birthday, or just plain bored, how we feel and what is going on in our life/environment may trigger certain eating behaviors and choices. Learning and practicing strategies to help manage and cope with emotions is a big key to reaching and mainlining health goals. It takes much more then simply knowing or being told what to eat or what to do. I love helping individuals develop strategies and goals to accomplish healthier lifestyle behaviors that lead to RESULTS.
While my philosophy involves a flexible eating approach, emphasizing whole foods, and addressing the psychological piece of eating, I am also dedicated to providing personalized nutrition.
Why personalize nutrition?
Since 2012, I have been privileged to work with hundreds of individuals, one-on-one and within group settings, to help them improve their health and form lifestyle behaviors that lead to sustainable results. When working towards a weight or health goal it is important to develop individual strategies that involve delicious, quick meals, flexible eating, realistic lifestyle changes/tweaks, and a “progress, not perfection” mindset. I love being able to cheer my clients on every step of the way. I am here to provide on-going support, accountability, and motivation which are all key ingredients to forming and working on healthy habits.
Why personalize nutrition?
I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition & Food Science from Drexel University, in Philadelphia, PA.  I was lucky to have found my passion in nutrition and helping people improve their health through a holistic approach, which led me to complete a Master’s Degree in Nutrition & Wellness and dietetic internship from Benedictine University in Lisle, IL

How can personalized nutrition coaching help me achieve my health goals?
Our 1:1 coaching is tailored specifically to your lifestyle, preferences, and health needs. By focusing on sustainable habits rather than quick fixes, we help you create lasting changes that improve your energy, weight management, and overall wellness.

The initial session is typically 60-75 minutes long.  This is where the customized approach to working on your goals begins!  During the initial consultation the dietitian will go through an in-depth lifestyle assessment to learn more about things like your eating behaviors, sleep, stress, health history, movement, individual challenges and more.  We take a holistic approach so it’s very important to us to collect a solid amount of baseline information and learn more about the different aspects of your lifestyle.

We also take the time to learn more about your mindset and go over healthy expectations and how we can make this process a truly successful one.  With every session, another priority is to make sure we are answering any questions you may have.  By the end of the initial session we will establish the first “Action Plan” which will consist of 1-3 behavioral goals that you feel confident in and that will support your progress.

Follow-up sessions are typically range from 20-60 minutes and depends on the individual. This give us the opportunity to check-in and evaluate how things have been since the last session.  We discuss how the previous action plan went and decide how we want to move forward/what the next behavioral goals will be.  Follow-up sessions are a fantastic way to stay ACCOUNTABLE, which can be extremely helpful when working on developing new or changing habits.  Since our approach focuses on building momentum at a manageable pace, checking in for follow-ups allows us to cover a variety of topics, over time, instead of receiving an overwhelming amount of information at once or crammed into a session.

We know that there are all kinds of changes and challenges that can take place throughout the year.  Meeting for follow-up coaching sessions allows us to continue building a lifestyle that supports your goals during life’s ups and downs because we’re able to work together to figure out the best way to address those times.  Building new habits and making changes takes consistency and repetition.  Follow-up session allow us to reinforce behaviors and work on how to apply those behaviors that support your goals, in various situations.
It is very important to set up healthy expectations for yourself and your journey. Consistency, patience, time, and putting your energy into your behaviors vs. outcomes is what will lead to the best possible results. Physical change takes time and will happen at different rates and in different ways for everyone. This program is designed for you to achieve results in a sustainable way so that by the time you do see the results you feel confident in being able to SUSTAIN them.
One of the big differences between this program and a diet is that you will not be making extreme changes at one time or be following a strict set of food rules.

We’re here to help you PRODUCE RESULTS THAT LAST and in order to do that we need to take a slow and steady approach vs. a quick and drastic one.  This will make the process more enjoyable and sustainable.  Together, we will help you establish and apply the tools that will allow you to making progress with your goals and be able to maintain results.
